// Liner notes
Named after Haruomi Hosono's 1973 album Hosono House, a Japanese record Styles heard while in Japan.
Released May 20, 2022 via Erskine and Columbia, Harry's House is a pop star at home with his shoes off. Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson produced every track, and the palette borrows from Japanese city pop, new wave synths and loose pop-funk basslines. "Music for a Sushi Restaurant" opens on blazing, Earth, Wind & Fire-sized horns, and "Late Night Talking" bounces on a soft-focus groove. Thirteen songs in under forty-two minutes, and none of them overstays.
"Matilda" drops almost to a whisper, and "Love of My Life" closes the record as a homesick love song to England. "As It Was" debuted at No. 1 in the US. "Late Night Talking," "Music for a Sushi Restaurant" and "Matilda" then joined it in the US Top 10 at the same time, making Styles the first British solo artist to hold four Top 10 songs at once. At the 2023 Grammys it won Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
