// Liner notes
Made in night-time sessions at a mansion on Mallorca, and the moment the band's cool detachment warmed into something closer to love.
Released October 25, 2019 via Partisan Records, Cry keeps the formula and turns the lights down another notch. Greg Gonzalez's voice stays hushed and androgynous, the guitars ring out in long reverb tails, and the tempos never break a slow sway. New to the palette are synths that drift slightly out of tune with each other, giving the record the woozy glow of a song half-heard through a hotel wall.
Lead single "Heavenly" is the band at its most openly devoted, "Kiss It Off Me" turns a goodbye into a slow-motion embrace, and the title track lets the longing spill over. Heard closely, it is the most romantic record they have made. It went to No. 1 in Portugal, reached No. 36 in the UK and went Gold in the US, the UK and France.
12-inch black vinyl, graded Near Mint, unsealed.
