The album that put all ten of its tracks in the Hot 100 top 40 at once, and carried "WILDFLOWER" to Song of the Year.
Released May 17, 2024 via Darkroom and Interscope, Billie Eilish's third album was made with FINNEAS at his home studio in Los Angeles between October 2022 and February 2024, and no single came out ahead of it. Several songs switch shape partway through: "L'AMOUR DE MA VIE" starts as a torch ballad and ends as a club track, and "THE GREATEST" climbs from a near-whisper to the loudest she has sung on record. "LUNCH" is the bluntest thing she has made, a song about wanting a girl, driven by a grinning bass line. "CHIHIRO" stretches one synth figure over five slow minutes, and "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" went to No. 2 on the Hot 100 and topped the Global 200. The Telegraph's Neil McCormick compared the record to Joni Mitchell's Blue.
It opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 339,000 units, her biggest week, and drew seven nominations at the 67th Grammys, Album of the Year among them. "WILDFLOWER" won Song of the Year at the next ceremony, and by March 2026 the album had passed ten billion Spotify streams, faster than any record by a woman.
