Raasny

Released October 3, 2025 via HIZZ and Heat Crimes, Raasny is Abosahar's latest dispatch from El Minya, the Upper Egypt town where he has spent a decade building his own micro-genre. He calls it Trobby, short for "True Being": electro-shaabi, house, techno, trap and pop fused into rough collages made on cracked software and half-broken machines. His first LP, The Caveman, also came out on HIZZ.

Nine tracks run on wedding-party ecstasy and move between Minya's dust and Cairo's neon. "Bs Ya Baba" and "Shaabi Alarab" jam shaabi's serrated synth stabs into warped, mutant pulses. "Moled w Samar Haz" and "Moled Altenee" sink into the circular cadence of mawlid ritual, folk devotion looped until it turns hypnotic. The title track pushes toward something almost devotional, voices cracking and beats distorting deep in the red.

This is the psychedelic edge of mahraganat, built outside every studio standard and sounding all the better for it, from a producer nobody else in the genre sounds like.
